Thats the result of BMW's new 'drive-by-wire' technology
I was not impressed by that when I test drove the new E46 cars

: I have a '99 323, and I was wondering if anyone noticed a slight (less than a 1/2 second) hesitation when giving the gas pedal a nice push. It doesn't happen often but I am not often pushing the car. When I say off the line I mean cluth down and no gas (I am not speaking of juggling the gas and clutch and then going). It seems the computer needs a 1/10th of a second to realize what just happened. Hope, this makes sense to everyone...I know my explanation is a bit remedial.

: Thanks
