Bring the tach to boil ata about a third before torque peak (on e46's I think that's about a 3500 peak...I may be wrong) and don't 'dump the clutch but don't release it slowly either...(only Rx-7's like the slipping clutch launch technique) ..Once you feel the back fully squat (thus avoiding any more tire slippage) hammer it and watch your rev limiter

I know that turning off the traction control is a good first step. Beyond that, what RPM do you bring it up do before dropping the clutch (without risking a trip back to the dealer). Also, do you lift off the clutch pedal as quickly as possible - or ease off as you drop your throttle foot to the floor.

: Occasionally (ok, more than occasionally) I like to try for an "optimal launch" - any advice?
