Pretty sure this is deliberate for pollution controls. I had a 280Z over 20 years ago that did this too. It was called BCDD (Boost Control Deacceleration Device) that you could tweak to reduce the effect. Now that everything is elecronic, you'll have to get out the soldering iron.
