Before I purchased my E46 328i, I test drove an E46 323i, although I liked how smooth it was, it just didn't have enough pull at higher speeds. Yes, at lower speeds, very similar to 328i, but because I do a lot of freeway driving, i liked the 70-90 range. I also didn't like the 16" sport with the 323i, I knew in the long run i would regret not getting the 328i. I am planning on keeping it for at least 8 years, maybe longer. My last E30, i had for 11 years with 215k miles.

I finally broke down and let one of my good friends drive it. Although he is use to Mustang GT's, Camero's with hugh engines. He commented that he liked even though he was on the freeway, he didn't have to down shift to get the car to pull. That is just a good reminder that I picked the right car. I am sorry for rambling and I don't even remember what the original topic was.
