: My 8 day old jet black 328i got dive-bombed by a sea-gull. I got home 90 minutes after the incident and promptly hosed off the offending matter then washed and waxed. I cannot remove the dulling on the clear coat where the bird doo-doo had sat. It is especially visible when seen at certain angles. What can I do, other than go to a detail shop who said it will cost at least $100?
Wondering what's up with the paint/clear coat on the E46. Have had 2 bird crap incidents on my black E46, removed within 2 hours, but both left stains in apparently the clear coat. I've owned black cars for the last 14 years and never had this staining problem. So, last week my wife pulls into the garage with this splatter the size of a frisbee on the hood of her black Explorer. Three days later I get to washing it off ... no mark left ...
