From a dead stop with the AC on.. I didn't notice too much of a gain (maybe slightly).. but when the car is in motion.. and you want to gain speed.. this is where I feel the Dinan program the most. Before I seemed to loose some power going up hills.. but after the reprogram.. I felt like I was gaining power when I stepped on it. Overall it made the gear shifting (automatic) a bit smoother. Before when I stepped on the accelerator, it seemed like I needed to go above 4500 rpm in order to feel any power.. after the chip, I start to feel power around 3000 rpm +. It just gets better after 3000 rpm. This is my second day with the chip, I will test it more this weekend. I think I'm going to get the stage 2 software with cold air intake in a few months. Overall.. I seem to be quite happy with my purchase. The BMW dealer was one of the authorized Dinan centers and assured me that this would not affect my warranty. One thing though (not bad).. if you have an automatic and get the Dinan upgrade.. the check engine light will appear. The dealer will have to clear something out in the system.. then the light will turn off. Dinan says this is normal and that 80% of the time this will happen. As for standard transmissions.. there was no check engine light. Hope this helps..
: Have you noticed any change in the following two areas? 1. Throttle response from a dead stop with the a/c on. 2. The transmission starting out in 1st or 2nd gear. Thanks AB
