If everytime something minor goes wrong and because you just laid down a wad of money - your ego tells you to get it fixed - then yes, you might be in for a load of "inconveniences".
You must make an effort to cool your heels and document the problems for one repair visit. You may discover a bunch of niggly little things that irritate you but don't affect the driveability nor the safety of the car. Write them down and count to ten. Obviously serious things need immediate attention.
A car is a car. No matter how well designed, things will not be perfect. Your ears and eyes will be ultra-sensitive to every creak, blemish, twitch, etc. But at the end of the day, you still own a BMW not a Hyundai.
Take the time to find a reputable dealer who cares. Talk to people and if your present dealer hasn't got a good reputation, you will find out.
The day I got my car, the alternator light starting going on intermittently. Nothing other effects.
It took several weeks of phone conversations with the dealer and one visit to have the alternator replaced. Two hours and no frustration.
Let the car mature in your mind first and guaranteed you will never be sorry you bought a bimmer.
