Last week I was in Cape May, NJ when Hurricane Floyd came through. (Things were worse elsewhere.) However, my car did get a ton of rain dumped on it. What this led to is oil or grease-like smears beneath the doors and other areas where the water drains out of the doors, etc.

Normal carwash soap wouldn't remove this stuff. Any suggestions? Is there anything that will remove this without taking off the wax too?

I actually think it's some cosmolene that was in the door, or perhaps it's from the lubricants used on the internals --- more likely, because now my driver's window squeaks.
