If you do use tire chains in the winter, consider getting a set of rubber steel-reinforced tire chains that are popular in Europe and Japan. I bought a set in Japan last year and am very happy with them, they fit perfect and snug and ride very quiet. Grip just as well, if not better, than conventional chains. Why rist scratching your rims, wheelwells or body with those brutal chains? One time on an installation manual of a set of chains, I saw "After tightening, remove slack with a saw"!
: I am going to Germany next summer and was wondering what kind of stuff for BMW's I should get there instead of here in America. I am planning on getting a car next summer as well (323ci) and was wondering if I should get aftermarket parts in Germany (ie. clear corners, rims etc.)
