: Someone keyed my car. Not too bad: some scratches on the driver's door that resemble spiderweb strands. They don't seem to have gone down to metal.

: Does anyone have any opinions on the desirability of fixing this sort of thing? How easy is it for a dealer to produce acceptable results? What are the mechanics involved in fixing this? The archives mention buffing out the scratches and/or painting it. Any experiences would be of interest.

: Perhaps I should just leave it like it is, so the next asshole doesn't feel the need to demonstrate his talent.

If you decide to paint check the archives from around the end of July. Someone posted a brand name for paint that BMW recomends and said this brand cuts down a lot of work in matching.
