Actually all good quality tints are metallic films, whether they are reflective or not. They do affect radar and laser reception to a certain extent but it is not enough of a problem to reconsider the purchase of a V1. I have some pretty heavy tint on my car and my V1 has lost some of its effectiveness to the rear (subjectively of course) but it still works very well and its usefulness is definately not called into question.
