: Hi -- I wanted to know if there was any benefit to getting metallic paint over the standard? Does it weather the elements better (i.e. rain, snow, etc.)? I actually prefer the "clean" look of the Alpine White, but would consider a metallic paint if I knew that it kept its gloss, color better over the years. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

All the basic colors such as white, black, red and yellow are enamel. They are more durable and polishing the top layer gives out a high-gloss. Metallics need more care and once faded, becomes very hard to bring the gloss back.
