From what I've readon this BBS, the biggest problem with the sound quality- not including radio reception- is the amp. It's locating in the left side of the trunk, near the wheel well, and is MUCH smaller than standard amps. Pretty much, the feel I get from this site about the amp is that it's crap. You can upgrade it easily, but any new amp won't fit in the same space as the stock one, so you'll either have to cut into something, or bolt the amp inside the trunk. Of course, amps aren't that large, so you won't be losing too much space. Someone said that they tested the speakers, and that they were good, but I'm going to replace mine with either MB Quarts or Nakamichis, in addition to the Nakamichi 6-disc changer deck and amp I'm going to put in.
: Any ideas on how to improve the sound quality of the 323i sedan base radio? Is the problem with the radio or the speakers, or both? Does anyone know if replacing the speakers significanty improves the sound? Is it possible to put an amplifier in? If so, does the 323i sedan have a place for it? Thanks a lot!
