: : Like many others, I seem to have the occasionally inoperative moonroof problem. the moonroof simply will not respond to the switch unless the roof is tilted up first. I noticed this morning that when the roof is closed and refuses to open by moving the switch to the rear then moving the switch forward unexpectedly causes the roof to tilt open at the rear and then normal function returns! It's mildly annoying and has got me baffled as there's no sign of any elctromechanical problems or binding. The moonroof works smoothly and I don't think it's the switch since this problem occured once when I attempted to open the moonroof with the key remote. I'm baffled by this! Does any one have any thoughts on this problem?
: I've had the same problem and it seems to stem from opening the sunroof with the remote and then closing it with the key in the driver's door. Maybe when the remote or key is used, the roof is closed "too far"...like it's starting to tilt. You must then tilt it completely, close it again, and then the normal operation resumes.
: Only a theory.
