: Was able to get a test drive at a dealer in NJ on Saturday. The car I drove was probably the least sporting version of the E46 coupe you could possibly buy. It was a 323Ci, non sport, with the auto. And we had the AC on the whole time
: If this is the worst performing of the coupes, the best may be downright scary. It was very, Very, VERY nice. The engine was smooth, quiet, revvy, and POWERFUL. It stuck like glue when pushed hard on a highway ramp. At the same time the car was never harsh on the back roads we were on.
: Can't wait to try a 328Ci sport manual.
My friend recently leased the 2000' 323ci with sport package, premium sound and a few other little extras. I actually took him to the dealer and forced him to sign the lease (his first BMW, I own a 93 525i). The car is by far THE BEST all around car for the money (around $37k). I am not a child but I have to say that I was never more JEALOUS of his car than anything else in my life! If anyone says there is a car built/performing/looking/priced better than this car they are either crazy or jealous! When he comes to pick me up to go out on some nights, I wait outside for the car to pull up in front of my house like Pamela Lee is coming or something! I start to get erect when I see the xenon light and hear the BMW engine roaring down my street. When he pulls up it takes me about 5 minutes to walk around the car and marvel at it before I actually get into it. Metallic Silver with light grey leather is really outstanding.
