I don't think the base cost of the fuel itself varies too much from state to state, but he taxes vary wildly. CA apparently has very high taxes, so do NY and CT. NJ apparently has quite low taxes. I live in NY, and every time I go over to Jersey, I make sure I fill up there.

: I was in Cali a couple of months ago and their Super gas was damn near 2 dollars( self serve)...right now NJ is 1.27 and cheaper for Super(Full Sevice).
