: I was driving on a freeway about 70 mph and all of sudden my e46's front window got smashed by a tiny rock, making a nickle sized crack on front window right in the center... very frustrating. I'm thinking if I should replace the window since it's fully covered by the insurance here in Massachusetts. But then, I'm wondering if replacing the front window might cause any rain leaking. After all, it won't be as reliable as origianl window installed at the factory when this car was built. If you guys have experience on replacing the front window and have some comments or advice, I'd appreciate.
Replace the window. My E36 and E30 both had to have windshields replaced and were without a hitch. Went to Safelite. Did fine work and no leaks. If you prefer some dealers in the MA area should do body work and could replace the window for you. Glass shops do so many jobs that some of the techs could do it blindfolded. Don't worry.
