Rudy, I will agree with your logic with one caveat. Yes, I think it's a fair bet that well-trained drivers cruising at 100 MPH on manicured roads can be every bit as safe, if not safer than inattentive lugs weaving around at 55 MPH on any number of our thoroughfares. I also trust that you are most likely an excellent driver, and in total control of your self and vehicle at just about any speed. The problem lies in those things which you DON'T have control over at those speeds. Regardless of how proficient a driver you may be, it only takes but one jackass on his cell phone weaving into the fast lane at the same moment you pass by to prove this point. Irrespective of how safe and competent you and your vehicle may be, it's all for naught until the other folks and vehicles on the road possess the same credentials. Until that day arrives here in the States, do yourself and your loved ones a favor; tone it down a bit, and keep your eye on the guy chuggin' coffee in the Excursion ahead of you.
