: I was wondering if all the E46 temperature displays are really slow in getting to the correct temperature. I leave my garage and it might read 60 degrees, drive to work (15 minutes) when it's 50 outside and by the time I get to work it has only gone up to 51 degrees. Eight hours later when the car has been sitting in 80 degree weather, I head home and the car is still reading 51 degrees from the morning. By the time I get home, it's up to 52 degrees. Are all E46's that slow or is it a defect in my temperature probe.

: The temperature seems to read correctly if I drive the car for about an hour. I would expect it to work much faster. Anyone have suggestions? Dealer says it's normal. My 97 M3 worked much faster on the on-board computer.

last week, i was driving in hacienda height in east LA, the temperature was reading 110 degrees....

it must have been really hot
