: I know that destination is legit (at least it is charged by BMW itself), and that there are the normal tax and DMV fees. However what fees are scams? I seen an 'advertising' fee printed on the tissue of a car a friend bought. Is this legit (I was VERY skeptical at the time). Are there any other fees that are legit, or are the rest pure profit for the dealer.

What I did was shop the fees around.. My dealer didn't charge ANY fees.. He charged the price that we agreed on, + TTL. Grayson wanted Ad Fee, Doc Fee, they wanted ME to pay an extra 1% dealer holdback.. A PDI fee.. etc.. NONE of which were charged by anyone else.. The DOC fee is especially bogus..

: Also, what initial marketup do you offer 2%, or a fixed $ amount.

I'm a tough guy, I offered $900 over invoice. As Larry did, you could as for their best price, and go that way! It worked well for him. Either way, you should be able to get counter offers if your deal is too low.
