: A friend of mine is considering a 328, but she is very much in love with the remote ignition on her current car. She has been told that installing a remote ignition on the 328 will void the warrantee since there is an electronic relationship between the key and the ignition for security reasons and to bypass *that* is what would void the warrantee.

: Are there any out there that have heard of this being done without the voiding of the warrantee? If so, any pointers to relavant info?

: thanks.

Having a car with engine running without a driver inside is a potential safety hazard.

I always turn off the engine when exiting the car.
I cannot understand why devices like remote ignition are legal.
