That's one of the first smart cops that I've ever heard of. You're one lucky son-of-a-bi#ch. I got pulled over for doing 53 in a 35 and I tried to pass it off that I was dyslexic...didn't work at all.

: There is a huge amount of research on speed/accident correlation and there is absolutely no evidence that greater speed on highways (given good conditions) increases your chances of an accident. And besides 100mph is really not that fast. Where our cars come from that is average cruising speed with many cars doing much, much more. People need to realize that speed doesn't "kill", stupid and/or untrained drivers kill. Put me in a dangerous situation with a European driver doing 100mph in a BMW over an untrained american in a Pontiac at 55mph any day. And believe me I am not into taking unnecessary risk. So wake up and realize that our speed limits are ridiculous and we need to start taking a serious look out our driver training system. All (I think) countries except for the US require people to go through some sort of formal driving instruction before getting a license. And how can anyone find that a 16 year old driving is reasonable while restricting mature, proficient drivers to 55mph??? This is just lunacy and you have to know it.
