: why is the name of the car a 323. I thought the name of a BMW always reflects the size of the engine, ie 2.8L(328), 4.0L(540), 5.0L(750)etc. The size of the engine on a 323 is 2.5L. I think this is the only model that doesn't follow the standard naming convention.
