Aftermarket speakers without an amp??? (archive)

From what I've heard on this board I guess that the 323Ci without the HK does not have an amp. So would it be possible to swap out the speakers and put in aftermarket speakers (MB Quart?) without having an amp? How would it sound compared to the stock system? Is there enough power coming from the head unit to power all of the speakers? (Changing the head unit is not an option for me.) I realize that you need an amp for optimal listening but I am not crazy about having some guy taking apart my new BMW in order to route wires or having wires shown. Are there speakers on the market that would fit directly into the factory positions without modification? I know very little about car audio and I know that there are quite a few people on this board who do, so your input would be greatly appreciated. And by the way do any of you know of any good installers in the Pittsburgh area?
