Replacing the speakers is the most important upgrade you can make in because the speaker is what you actually hear and is typically the weakest link in an audio system. I have heard that MB Quart makes speakers that fit the stock mounts.
I have been building and critically listening to speakers for years and can say that MB is an excellent outfit and while other product may sound different, in overall quality it will not be better. Furthermore, Alpine, while not the best, are pretty good so replacing the amp only buys you an upgrade from good to very good, at considerable cost and custom installation within the new car. The speakers are better bang for the buck because you upgrade from pretty low grade to very high quality and suffer no ripping apart of the car. 0.02!
PS This assumes that you are looking for ordinary but high quality sound, if you are a bass freak or something, you will want big amps and subwoofers in which case you should probably consider 29 db ear plugs as well!
