I have used Xymol Cream on my light colored cars. It works wonderfully. There are a couple schools of thought regarding the buffer. The school I believe very heavily in, says you apply wax in a straight motion. The problem is that scratches can only be seen from a 90 degree angle, therefore, a swirl mark can be seen by manny more angles than a straight mark. Obviously nobody wants marks of any kind, but you have to admit that there is a reasonable chance that dirt would get inbetween the buffer and the car. Just my 2-cents.
