: First off, thanks everyone for their replies to my earlier post........but I want to ask one more question:

: For anyone out there that has had their car on a lift, what car component (oil pan, tranny, etc.) is located on the approximate centerline of the car and is even with the 'jack' blocks that are on the frame of the car (about a foot or so behind the front tire wells)?

: This is where the leak is originating.....it is NOT water.

: Thanks!

Had the same thing on my 323i Sport. Went on vacation and it sat in the garage for two weeks. Found a 2 inch circle of liquid right where you indicated yours was under the car. Looked like oil to me.
So I made an appointment to have it checked out along with the usual things (finicky moonroof, etc.)
When I spoke with the service rep I requested an oil change (1800 miles). He said no problem. but before I could leave a service manager came out to talk me out of it. Said it wasn't necessary, that it was actually better to leave it until BMW scheduled maintenance. And I was going to pay for this myself. Go figure.
When I picked the car up, they discovered the drain plug was loose. Had to change the damn oil anyway.
I don't know if it's me or not, but I could swear the car drove smoother after the oil change at only 1800 miles. This tells me that to wait until 15,000 miles is crazy. I'm having mine changed every 7500 from now on, no matter what the service manager says.
