The airlines do it with Jet fuel.
What would happen is that we'd buy a large quanitity of gasoline. Say 500 gallons. We'd designate who are deliverer would be, BP, Chevron, etc., and our 500 gallons would be transfered to them. We'd then pay BP, or whoever, a fee for delivering the gas to us via the pump. 5¢/gallon, 10¢/gallon, etc. We'd just have an account with the individual oil company that would keep track of how much of "our" gasoline we still have "on account".
