Type R can probably beat a 328 on the track, but the Type R is near useless as a street car. THe engine only makes power in the upper ranges, it's not the type of engine that likes to doddle in traffic or around town. The noise levels at any speed above 50 MPH is unbearable. THe ride is very harsh and jittery.

This said, the response, hadling, grip and fun are on a very high level. It would make a great track car for the weekends.

Also, in an English mag the Type-R lapped 2 seconds quicker on a 2.31 mile track than a Z3 2.8 with 17" wheels.
