The problems with that are that California lawmakers are ridiculously inertia-bound, and like to change as little as possible, save for anything that would hurt minorities and the disadvantaged (sorry, this is probably not a place to gripe out our lawmakers), and the counties and cities that garner cash from the writing of tickets for front plate violations would get upset about it. Anyway, Cali lawmakers have never been about saving money, but I think I'll send a letter to my state legislature representative anyway.
: I still think you guys in CA ought to start a letter writting campaign to the appropriate government officials in an attempt to get the front plate requirement removed.
: In my state we don't have front plates. Our cops don't seem to have any trouble enforcing the laws with only rear plates to work with so I'm sure the CA cops could do just as well. Point out how it would cut the cost of making plates in half with no need to reduce the fee charged. An extra source of revenue ought to get a politicians attention. :)
