There are lots of definitions of "sports car" but very few of them include cars with semi-useable back seats. Some don't even include cars with a roof. Sports cars don't even have to be unusually fast.

Sports cars: Viper, NSX, Miata, 911, Z3, MR2,30 year old MG, ....

Yes, it's obviously true that the 323/328 isn't the fastest car on the road. Generally, people that buy them don't even care. Most of us have never posted a "I beat a xxxx today!" message and think these messages are kind of stupid.

Just my opinion.
