Just to add to a previous post from an European on the different prespective on the 323 and 328 "debate."
In Europe there are many cars in the 323i class at a lower price, the Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 is the best example. While the 328i only has the more traditional Audi and Merc cars.
So many of use (not all) can't see paying a significantly higher price for a 323i over an Alfa 156 2.5 or Peugot 406 3.0V6. But, if the interest is in a 328i then the competition is more closely priced. Simply, the 323i has much competition while the 328i is much better than those cheaper cars and all it's competition is similiarly priced.
