I had the same problem about 2 months ago on my new 2000 323i. It was a bit scary losing power at 70mph in the fast lane and then having to coast over to the shoulder through two lanes of traffic. Unfortunatley, I was 300 miles from home and it was a weekend. No local dealers could get me in on Saturday. I had to nurse the car all the way home, pulling over every 20-30 miles, and waiting for 15-25 minutes for the engine to cool down. The dealer replaced my "Throttle Housing Assembly." It has something to do with the drive by wire accelerator. I don't think it is a problem with the DSC, because turning that off didn't solve the problem.

Let me know what your problem was. I'm hoping I won't have the same problem again.
