: : I don't want to jump the gun here. But from the postings of this problem, it seems BMW was already aware of it back in February. My car was built in early July. If it is the same problem of the DSC erroneously cutting off the power while just cruising along, it is downright dangerous. It happened to me while coming back from the Bay area to Los Angeles on I-5. It's a major thoroughway for all the big trucks. Believe me it was nerve wrecking nursing the car back home having to pull over a number of times when the engine lost power with the DSC and engine lights on. If this is the problem, then ironically, the DSC, being a safety feature, is detrimental for what it's suppose to do.
: : Also ironic, I still have an 87 E30 with close to 1/2 million miles and never ever had me stranded.

After the loss of power with the DSC and engine lights on, I have to pull over and turn the engine off. After restarting the DSC light will turn off, but the engine light remains on.
