Unfortunately, I have to go on a business trip
outside of the country for about 3 weeks. I dropped the car off to a local BMW dealer and hopefully giving time, they can identify the
dreaded power loss syndrome (happened a number of times while just cruising on the freeway, then suddenly no power). I don't mind the non-essential electronical things going wrong, but the drive-by-wire throttle is such a critical component, dying on you at the most inappropriate place/time, at least leaves you stranded if not dangerous lossing power while on any metropolitan freeways. If the problem persists, I would have no choice but to pursue it with BMWUSA. So far the dealers are trying their best to isolate the problem, but BMWUSA should also step up to the plate giving them the technical resources needed to tackle the problem. Will keep you all posted.
