Doesn't only minimize wheelspin from a stop. It will attempt to neutralize wheelspin in any situation. This could affect a four-wheel drift and throttle oversteer. Usually ASC goes a little too far to stop wheelspin, and overcompensates causing a bog. There aren't any real benefits to turning it off in normal driving, unless you regularly throttle oversteer. Torque is not affected by the ASC. ASC operates by reducing throttle and/or applying brakes.
