Could you furter clarify how do you file for dimunition of value. Isn't figuring out the diminshed value very subjective and do insurance company really entertain that?

If you know more about his please post as this is a new angle I have never though about.

: sign a release, advise the insurance company that you are making a claim for dimunition in value. Do not settle your claim until you agree on a figure to represent lost value. (Difference between value of car immediatly before accident and immediatly afterwards, in most states).
