: 1,2,3.Manufacturer
: WBA- BMW AG

: 4,5,6.Model
: AM3- 323i
: AM5- 328i
: BM3- 323Ci (I think)
: BM5- 328Ci (Once Again, I am not sure)

: 7.Country
: 3- US Model

: 8.Restraint System
: 3- Dual, De-powered Airbags

: 9.Check Digit(1-9)- Varies from car to car

: 10.Model Year
: X- '99 model
: Y- '00 model

: 11.Assembly Plant
: K- Munich
: F- Dingolfing (Not sure on this one either)

: 12-17.Serial Number
: 1 letter, 5 numbers.
: "K" for plant letter is usually proceeded by "C-----"
: "F" for plant letter is usually proceeded by "P-----"
