: Do you have any comment on how all-season 225/45-17s would be on light snow, slush, and maybe a little ice? I know DSC is only as good as the traction the tires provide, but since I live in california and go skiing about once a month, maybe twice, snow tires aren't at all viable. Any comments and what tires you'd recommend? From what I understand, the only choice in that size is the Pirelly 7000 SS, but does the Dunlop 5000 come in that size? Any info would be appreciated!

The Pirellis are the only one offered in that size as an all season tire, and the all season use is minimal. If you are doing a lot of snow/slush/ice driving, do yourself the favor & get a specialized winter tire. They would be okay for the occasional 3 or 4 days a year type snowfall, but otherwise you really need a winter tire, ASC/DSC or not.

Hope this helps. Feel free to callme to discuss your situation further.
