: Italian coach builders are warned against attending this year's show in Japan, lest they get an uncontrollable urge to BARF all over the place ---- rather like George Bush did when he saw pictures of the latest auto designs there. (yeah, there was a cover-up)
: Japan does seem to outdo itself in shipping lumps of plastic copied from well-sculpted european origins. They must have translated 'The Graduate' into Japanese or something --- you know, PLASTIC. Were it not for their excellence in process quality, they wouldn't have an (export) industry to speak of. Oddly, this too was 'imported' after WWII by Deming and others who set the stage for Ishikawa and many others.
: This reminds me of a joke which plays on stereotypes: What is the difference between Heaven and Hell?
: In HEAVEN: (1) the French are the Cooks, (2) the Italians are the Lovers, (3) the Germans are the Engineers, (4) the Swiss are the Administrators, and the (5) English are the Police.
: In HELL: (1) the French are the Engineers, (2) the Italians are the Administrators, (3) the English are the Cooks, (4) the Swiss are the Lovers, and the (5) Germans are the Police.
That joke still paints a picture and brings a laugh. I think you're right...even quality was "imported" to Japan. Many of us have had the "Crosby" course here in the US. I wonder how many board readers even remember "The Graduate"..or the soundtrack.
