I've been receiving a tremendous amount of E-mail inquiries lately regarding the general availability of the various E46 BMW models... Assuming that most BMW Centers are in a similar predicament, here's what you can expect currently (at least out here on the West Coast)...
328i Sedan
: Plentiful supply... Many unsold cars "on the ground",
with many available in the different stages of production
and distribution... If you are looking for a "deal", look no further. In fact, BMWFS (for the 1st time ever for the E46) has a "Sales Support" money factor for the 328i.
328Ci Coupe
: Supply pipeline looking better all of the time... :-)
A few cars in dealer inventory, and a few unsold in production... Sport package cars now being built;
also a good time to order one of these... Special
lease rates now applicable to this model as well...
323i Sedan
: It's looking kind of tough for the most popular (volume)
E46 model at this time... Very little unsold product,
at least through November production. The steptronic transmission shortage surely won't help... You'll have an easier time with a manual transmission...
323Ci Coupe
: Good luck... :-) Seriously, production is still
lagging, and this model seems to be the forerunner on
most of your wish lists... Once gain, we're hoping
that the future outlook (e.g. December production allocation) improves...
There you have it... Obviously, the availability will vary by geographical location, as well as by individual dealer...
Good luck, -Jon
