Jon's West Coast info might as well have been the national forecast. The 323's are in very short supply. Coupe or sedan you'll have a hard time finding one of these cars.

If you are patient I can arrange for the 323i sedan or coupe at $1600 on ordered units. There are a handful of odd specification cars that can be had at $1300 over invoice.

328's as Jon has said are more plentiful and there are good deals to be had. On the East Coast there are several dealers I work with willing to sell in stock 328's for $1200 over invoice and they will take orders or do dealer traded cars for $1400 over invoice. This pricing applies to Coupes or Sedans.

540i's are extremely hard to come by, especially the automatics. East Coast pricing is hovering at about $2000 over invoice if you can wait for a car.

528i's are a little more plentiful and again on the east coast, I have dealers that are willing to sell in stock 528's for $1400 over invoice and they will take orders or do dealer traded cars for $1600 over invoice.

On 99 328i's you are looking at invoice plus $500 if you can find one.

: I've been receiving a tremendous amount of E-mail inquiries lately regarding the general availability of the various E46 BMW models... Assuming that most BMW Centers are in a similar predicament, here's what you can expect currently (at least out here on the West Coast)...

: 328i Sedan

: : Plentiful supply... Many unsold cars "on the ground",

: with many available in the different stages of production

: and distribution... If you are looking for a "deal", look no further. In fact, BMWFS (for the 1st time ever for the E46) has a "Sales Support" money factor for the 328i.

: 328Ci Coupe

: : Supply pipeline looking better all of the time... :-)

: A few cars in dealer inventory, and a few unsold in production... Sport package cars now being built;

: also a good time to order one of these... Special

: lease rates now applicable to this model as well...

: 323i Sedan

: : It's looking kind of tough for the most popular (volume)

: E46 model at this time... Very little unsold product,

: at least through November production. The steptronic transmission shortage surely won't help... You'll have an easier time with a manual transmission...

: 323Ci Coupe

: : Good luck... :-) Seriously, production is still

: lagging, and this model seems to be the forerunner on

: most of your wish lists... Once gain, we're hoping

: that the future outlook (e.g. December production allocation) improves...

: There you have it... Obviously, the availability will vary by geographical location, as well as by individual dealer...

: Good luck, -Jon
