When I was at the delaer the weekend before last, looking through the list of allocation slots(?), there didn't seem to be anything produced between weeks 43-47. Is there anything going on? I wasn't able to get week 43 production, but only week 47. I am talking about no cars what-so-ever no 3, 5, 7, X, Z, nada.
Octoberfest maybe? Do they get that trashed that they close the factory for the month?
Thanks in advance.
: I've been receiving a tremendous amount of E-mail inquiries lately regarding the general availability of the various E46 BMW models... Assuming that most BMW Centers are in a similar predicament, here's what you can expect currently (at least out here on the West Coast)...
: 328i Sedan
: : Plentiful supply... Many unsold cars "on the ground",
: with many available in the different stages of production
: and distribution... If you are looking for a "deal", look no further. In fact, BMWFS (for the 1st time ever for the E46) has a "Sales Support" money factor for the 328i.
: 328Ci Coupe
: : Supply pipeline looking better all of the time... :-)
: A few cars in dealer inventory, and a few unsold in production... Sport package cars now being built;
: also a good time to order one of these... Special
: lease rates now applicable to this model as well...
: 323i Sedan
: : It's looking kind of tough for the most popular (volume)
: E46 model at this time... Very little unsold product,
: at least through November production. The steptronic transmission shortage surely won't help... You'll have an easier time with a manual transmission...
: 323Ci Coupe
: : Good luck... :-) Seriously, production is still
: lagging, and this model seems to be the forerunner on
: most of your wish lists... Once gain, we're hoping
: that the future outlook (e.g. December production allocation) improves...
: There you have it... Obviously, the availability will vary by geographical location, as well as by individual dealer...
: Good luck, -Jon
