I think the solid tan wire is the remote turn on. The harness connector at the amp will "come apart" to aid in easily identifying various wires. The connector has a plastic locking lever that can be removed from the harness after it has been disconnected from the amp. After I did this, I hooked up a test light to the different wires to "ohm" them out. I checked for power while a buddy turned the head unit off and on. Since the remote turn on only puts out around 3 volts, the light comes on but is dim. To identify different speakers, a friend says he has a test unit that puts out a signal to test for speaker location. I haven't done this yet, but I can ask him what the unit looks like and I'll post later. FYI, the amp doesn't have any RCA type jacks on it. You can search the archives for further info on my upgrade.
