Owners' experiences - 1st scheduled maintenance? (archive)

I have a 99 323i with 5 speed. I was curious to see at what mileage other owners were finding they needed their first scheduled maintenance. My 323i has about 5500 miles on it and the computer is saying that the first scheduled maintenance will be at about 9600 miles? I don't drive the car all that hard, so this seems like it's pretty low mileage considering the claims of 15k mile service intervals.
