Abuse will always manifest itself in one way or another, and always expensively. Especially so with a car like a BMW, where parts and expertise are expensive to begin with.
If I new the seller, or if it is off lease, the previous driver, I would be less hesitant (or more hesitant if I knew there were problems). But an off lease car with an unknown background? I would be VERY careful.
: : I tend to think that people (mostly guys) who drive M3s tend to push them harder than drivers of regular 3 series cars. Add to this the fact that most of the M3s on the market are off lease cars, which the owners had little incentive to maintain properly, and the chances of getting an abused car are very high.
: : With a new E46, you'd be the first driver.
: : : I am still debating....used m3 vs. new 323ci. m3 would be around $28k and 323ci would be around 32k. Comments? Arguments? Does the 323ci have enough power??
