That's right, the rebate is between you and BMW NA -- the dealer has nothing to do with it.

One tip: If you are eligibile for the discount, do not tell the dealer during your negotiations, or they may start taking that into account in their negotiations. "So, the car will end up costing you $xxx", as opposed to "So we will charge you $xxx". It just makes things a whole lot easier for you if you don't tell them until you've settled on a final price with them.

: The rebate comes from BMW NA, not the dealer. You get it after the fact, so it shouldn't matter to the dealer.

: You have to be a CCA member for one year before being eligible, but there is no requirement that you currently own a BMW (other than the one you purchase!).
