Gear ratios? Manual/Auto? The different gearing would be my guess. There have also been some tweaks to the E46 engines to improve power delivery (double VANOS, etc).
: I was flipping through the pages and noticed the specs on the 323ci to be the typical 7.1 sec 0-60 time that is pretty common knowledge. Later in the magazine I noticed the article on the 3xxti (can't remember) anyway it was a 2.5 liter hatchback that looks to have the same model 2.5 engine as the 323's 170 hp 181 lb/ft etc. The car weighed almost two hundred pounds less but yet was over .5 seconds slower 0-60 than the heavier ci. Anyone know the answer to this? It could be gearing I'm not sure but it seemed odd that a smaller lighter car with the same engine was slower than the 323ci.
