Well said but unfortunately most dealers have taken the position that what one doesn't know can't hurt him/her. But before you get distressed over this, believe it or not most of the recalls, bulletins, and what have you do get fixed by the dealer w/ no charge.

The catch here is you have to take the car in for some kind of service so they can run your plate and vin number to see if any additional service is required. Minor stuff would not be fix automatically unless you complain. (i.e. windows, radio, and etc.) Don't expect the dealer to send out a courtesy letter asking you to come in for a recall and etc. They never do it unless it is life threatening issue. and so far I have received no letter from them yet. (should i be happy then?)
