Thieves can still tow your car away and perhaps take it apart to sell the parts. One of the sensor in the alarm package will warn you against the car being tilted. Anyways, I don't have it myself so I don't have first experience with the E46 alarm.
: My 1999 328i has what's called the "electronic immobilization system", which the owner's manual says "makes it impossible to start the engine using any means other than the special keys furnished with the vehicle." Does this mean that adding a car alarm would basically be to protect the contents of the vehicle, rather that actual theft of the car? In other words, can someone still steal the car by "hot-wiring" or other means? Thanks
